The key problems that hinder the development of citizen journalism in the North Republic of Macedonia are related to the lack of awareness among citizens about the importance of this type of information and the possibilities for its realization.
Violations of journalistic ethics in citizen journalism are often a consequence of a lack of education. The priority in reporting is to convey information, which often involves revealing the identity of individuals, inappropriate photography and filming, all with the aim of conveying the event as authentically as possible. The task of professional journalists and editors is to protect the profession, the media and themselves, and to ensure that the information remains reliable.
